Agree with what Jim and Ethan said. In the heat I was running thrid and coming for the checkered I twisted the right side axle off. In the feature running around 4th with 5 to go and the ignition box went to hell. So not a good start for the season. Definitely like the new tires though.

I have the car about 3/4 done. It is hard to go work on it with all the honey due list after returning from deployment.......... ;D. Still hoping to get it ready for the 20th and 21st. I have to get my tires mounted up and get a set so still seems like a lot of work left.

I sure hope that everyone is doing alright with all these storms going on around the country.
Interested if anyone has heard any news from our friends in Missouri?
Am hoping that the rains and storms stop soon so that I can find out how the racing is going around the country.
Let us know how it's going.

All My Best,

Steve

I had time to get one of the five new tires mounted on a wheel.  That and I have ordered a few things that I have not had time to actually put on the car.  For some reason the 6 month old twins will not get out there and start working on the car.  Ungrateful children.  Next time they are crying because they want a bottle, I will have to tell them not until you get out there a mount a couple tires.  Time that they start helping out a little.   ;)

LOL! What good are kids if they won't crew for dear ol' dad?
I remember my oldest son "helping" me with the Model T.
Migh be paint and dents ahead to just let them watch and learn for now.
 ;D

No worries, we're all fiberglass...although my daughter must have gained a few pounds since last year.
Every year we take a family picture with the car, and she cracked the freshly painted hood this year.
That is about the extent of  my "How you doing?" with 3 of the 4 races scheduled being called due to weather

Well, took the new car out last weekend. I was hoping not to have bug and really didn't. It did have a horrible push in the heats that caused me to push up into a guy and I spun him ( had to go apologize after that one). Made some turns on the springs and she came to life but still had a little push. All in all not bad for the first time out. Now this weekend I have the opportunity to drive for a guy on asphalt. I really didn't plan on running any asphalt this year but this is a great opportunity in a great car. Hope all goes well and it is a 50 lapper. Have a great Memorial Day weekend to all of you. Stay safe.

After 2 consecutive rain outs, we got to race at Beaver Dam. Track widened out and had multiple grooves. Car ran ok until a mid-race caution i moved up to the top 5 until dropping back to finish 8th. Have a couple ideas for some minor adjustments but won't get to test them out for another 2 weeks as this week will be an off week..

Strong field of cars out there today. Started 11th and finished 10th, but brought the car home in one piece again.
Was planning on racing in Dubuque tonight, but with a 60% chance of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hail, I'm staying home.
$220 in gas roundtrip with a 60% chance of getting rained out isn't worth the risk for me.
