Sorry to hear Jim....guess I can't blame you.  After some of the luck you've had this year, a night off may be the best medicine.  See you next week... ;D

This sucks.
I'm supposed to be racing.
I think I'll take Jimmy to Slinger for our once every 3 years visit

Had a good night Friday night at Manitowoc. Finished 4th in heat race and 10 in the main. That has been my goal and to try to improve from there for my rookie year.

Saturday night was a disaster......shattered the clutch basket and ended in a million pieces on the 1st hot lap........Done for the weekend as I was looking forward to the triple header and hopefully it can be repaired for next week...... and I know it won't be cheap so we shall see......might be out for several weeks.........hope for the best.

Scott,

Good that you are setting goals and meeting them. The first year is always rough. Hang in there!
Ask around. Perhaps someone on the site may have a spare they will sell for a reasonable price.
Best Of Luck!

I found out yesterday that I will be missing 2 - 3 weeks of racing........That SUCKS!!!!. But I have no control over what happened.....so it looks like I get a mid season break.

Good luck to all the other dirt racers in Wisconsin

Scott,

Jim broke one too a few weeks ago. They are available. Do some looking around. Jim keeps pretty good track of the FJ/XJ parts that are available on eBay, racingjunk and a few other sources. Perhaps you can locate one fairly cheap on the fjowners site.

Scott,

Why 2-3 weeks? I have all of the parts you need in stock. You need to look at the oil pump and replace it if damaged. Drop the pan clean out the pieces, reinstall the new clutch pieces and you are back on track.

We break clutch baskets all the time roadracing. We replace them at the track when it happens on a Saturday so the car can be run on Sunday. I do 3-4 a year like that at the track.

If I can be of any assistance please drop me an email.

I've got everything he needs too, and I'm 45 minutes from his house, but I'm sure he's getting a deal from his engine builder.

Ahh, there you go, it is up to the engine builder.

Didn't say that at all, just guessing his engine builder is helping him out, that's all

90+ up here. First time we have had the normal upper temps in the summer months in 4 or 5 years. Hope that doesn't mean that we will get the -60* weather in the winter months.
