Chassis question
« on: June 10, 2016, 12:04:58 pm »
Has anyone ever come across a chassis that has a thin metal plate welded in an inconspicuous place with a date stamped on it? I'm not talking about the welded vin plate, this is something different in a totally different location. Did any of the chassis repair guys do this at some point to identify what they've done or something? This is the first I've seen or heard of it and just want to find out what I can about it.

It is a "born on" date. It tells when the chassis was made at INEX. I have one on the passenger side B door jam of a sedan. The date correlates with when the previous owner ordered the frame when new.
