National points for Nationals?

I was unaware that the Dirt Nationals was a points race, not that I'm a points chaser, I'm not even in the right class  ::) :P
Is this the first year that it's a national points race?

Didn't hear that either Jim but I think it is a good idea. Maybe if the gave double points or something it would spark a little more interest is the nationals. Maybe moving it a little earlier in the year before kids go back to school would help too.
