New doors for Legends cars.....

Just caught wind of this on the yahoo forum, anyone have any pics of the new doors that are on the new Legends Chassis?

Seems like INEX would post stuff like this on their website.  There never seems to be any real pertinent info on their site.

I love the idea and the thought of improved safety, just curious If this will be a mandatory item, or just something you can have. How many are willing to bolt on 14 more lbs. to their cars?  I'm already overweight and doing as much as possible to lighten it up.  Not sure I want to add another 14 lbs on top of what I already am overweight.

How bout making these mandatory and bumping the min weight up to 1315 lbs. 

better yet let's bump the min weight to 1325........

Weight isn't everything.
I haven't heard of the new door yet either...

I have seen the new door configuration. They are being installed on the new chassis at USLC, the left door has more bars and plating. The right is way different, the door frame is shorter and stops at the tunnel, there are cross bars across the tunnel area, the door panel remain the same. The lower hinge was raised for the shortened door frame. My understanding is that this will not be mandatory, the average legend car owner could not do these changes in his garage. These are results of accidents and safety issues.

Just from what is posted on here, it sounds like it will cut down on the chances of the right running board blocking the door if it gets pushed up.  If the left door uses the same hinges, that might be something that most people could update in their garage.  My car does not need more weight, but on the surface this sounds like it will make the cars safer.

WOW, we have been saying that would be a great way to make sure you can get out of the car and now they are doing it. Maybe they do listen.

You are right about weight isn't everything but I would say it is more important on asphalt than dirt. As for the doors, it is just in the prototype stage right now. I spoke to a dealer the other day and he told me that nothing will be put out anytime soon with the doors. It is all for safety and adds about 14 lbs to the chassis, they are still currently building the chassis's as they are.

If the right door only opens from the driveshaft tunnel up, the people that care how their cars look will buy new bodies to avoid cutting the bottom off their current doors and riviting it to the chassis...unless I'm missing something.
I put 211 rivets on my car this week, so I have no problem with a few more
