I agree on the door padding.  I got some high density foam pad from Coleman Racing for around $30 and it was enough for the left side door and part of the right side.  It will not stop a door from caving in, but may cushion the impact if the door comes in a couple of inches in a crash.  Plus, I kept hitting my arm on the door bar during the first couple of races when I got my elbows up too far and this really helps.

Here is the Coleman link along with some SFI foam at Pegasus.  The Coleman stuff was cheaper than I remembered.  Both options just need to be cut to size and mounted with zip ties.  These both are cheaper than the 600 Racing door pads.

I dont know about the Coleman stuff, but the Pegasus padding is rock hard and crumbles on the edges. I have a $60.00 sheet in my garage I never used

The Coleman stuff is more flexible.  It is closed cell so it will not collapse down like the cheap roll bar padding, but it is not as hard as the SFI roll bar padding.  I used this in the modified for a few years and it did not break apart or anything.
