Are they only allowing ones with a sticker, or just a specific model?  The same ones 600 sells are less expensive through just about any other supplier.

Legends Car Approved Beadlock Wheel

The INEX approved (and marked) beadlock wheel will be permitted to be used on the right rear corner of Legends Cars running on INEX sanctioned tracks.

This wheel will have clips for wheel covers. The only wheel cover permitted will be as delivered by 600 Racing, Inc.

The approval of use of this wheel will also rescind the approval for use of screws in our current wheels. Using screws to secure the tire to the wheel will no longer be permitted.

Other aftermarket beadlock wheels & covers will not be allowed. Only the INEX approved beadlock wheel with the identifying sticker & stamp and cover as delivered by 600 Racing, Inc. will be legal for use at all INEX sanctioned races (right rear only).

Painting the wheel will be permitted. However, powder coating, chrome, etc. will not be allowed (the identifying sticker must remain intact & identifiable).

The new bead lock wheels that 600 sells are fine, but all other wheels will have to be the  Bassett / Unique that 600 sells.  I have to buy 8 new ones for next year...

CLARIFICATION

Just got off the phone with Jason Foxworthy, 600 racing parts director:

Bassett or Trap wheels only, which are the 2 brands 600 sells. No other manufacturer (Aero, Diamond, Marsh, etc...). Wheels do not have to be purchased through 600, and will not have any INEX or 600 stickers or markings...just have to be Bassett or Trap.

This has been a public service announcement from VMS Motorsports...relax everybody!

I would assume this is because of all the lighter wheels out there people are using. this will be a quicker and easier way than to pull peoples wheels off in tech and weight them.

Jim,
Thanks for checking into this.  My blood pressure just went back down a little.  At least I have the Trap wheels, but feel bad for racers using the other brands that are within the legal weight.

Must say, if they are going to make changes like this, I'm glad that they did it this early.  All I have are Bassets and Traps, but was thinking of having Diamond make me some, playing with the variable allowed in the rules for offset. Now I can buy my daughter a birthday present after all  ;D

Jim, a cheater like me could still take some Bassett stickers and put them on my light weight wheels so you should probably still weigh them. ;)

we will be making Bassett sticker and selling them for $75 a piece. Each sticker will come with a wheel. Just kidding but we could copy the stickers pretty easy.

Unfortunately, the wheel people aren't the ones making the rules.
They are the ones making the deals with 600 Racing.  :o
