borla mufflers
« on: February 21, 2009, 05:35:43 pm »
Hey Everyone,
Does anyone know the borla muffler part # to meet the 2009 rules and do you have to buy new headers to match the muffler?  Can the headers on a 2008 model legend be used with a borla muffler?  Thanks!

Dont know the part #, but they have been around for a while. I bought my car in 07 and it had the Borla on it. There are 2 used ones on eBay right now.

I'm sure it will fit without any problem.  When I bought my car 4 years ago mine came with both a collector and a borla muffler.  They both bolt on exactly the same - nothing fancy at all.

Hey Jim,
Yes I saw them.  I need one and a friend needs one as well.  So I was thinking about bidding on them.  Are you fairly certain they will work on the headers that my car came with from 600?  I did not know whether I had to buy new headers as well.  Let me know.  Thanks,

The pipes are all the same the only difference is the muffler or collector that bolts on.  I used both this season, you will have no problems getting the Borla muffler and slipping it on your pipes.

I'm real disappointed that 600 Racing hasn't run any sale on the mufflers this year.  I have a new one that came with my car but it would be nice to get a deal on a spare in case it should fall off and get wrecked like my collector did.  These things are quite heavy and I figure it will be tough to keep them on the car.

They aren't hard to keep on the car, just make sure to check the tab weekly to catch any cracking early.
