The reason I posted this thread is because when I looked into the reservoir the oil looked black, I called 600 racing and asked about this and I was told it was normal
...that didn't sound correct to me so that's why I posted the question here.
Here's the correct answer 600 Racing should have told me, the reservoir is semi white plastic, what you're seeing is the metal housing (which is black ) that the plastic reservoir is clamped to.
Another thing, there's a rubber seal that's supposed to be on the reservoir cap....mine wasn't....the seal was down inside the plastic reservoir.
