Pickup locations for Gauge/Lights
« on: December 11, 2008, 04:29:29 pm »
Where does everyone put the pickups on their engines for oil temp and oil pressure gauges and lights?  Thought this came up before, but could not find the thread.  My engine has the oil temp probe on a T in the oil cooler line, and I would prefer to move it onto the motor.  The oil pressure is located on left side of the motor in one of the oil pan ports.

I hade an aluminum block machined to go into the rear oil pan port that is blocked. My mechanical oil temperature probe fits into it and lets me know the oil temperature in the pan. My oil pressure gauge is into the main oil gally and also is mechanical.

I'll take a look at mine tonight.  Do you know of anyone that sells the fitting for the oil pan?  Sounds like a more logical place to put the temp sending unit than where mine is now.
