Oil Filters

alabamalegends:
What is the recommendation for the oil filter on the Legends engines?  I have noticed that some have 8-10 gal/hr flow rate and some that are 28-30.  Also, is burst pressure important, some are 500 p.s.i. and others are 280 p.s.i.   Seems like a big variation.

In the past I have used WIX 51515, Mobil 1 M1-402, Deutsch D605, Fram Ph3766.
I am using a Puralator L30288 now and I believe it's a  25+ gal flow rate.

Will different brand oil filters/different flow rates have anything to do with oil temp?  ???

Thanks, Roger

DARK AGE 53:
We're using the FRAM PH-8A oil filter, seems to working fine.

legends13:
stick with the wix. I have seen a number of fram filters blow the gasket and cause fire/wrecks due to spraying oil.

NAPA filters are made by wix, so they are just as good.

Al,
I am using an Oberg screen type filter. Don't know if that's legal for you.

DARK AGE 53:
Hey Steve,

I've seen those for automotive use but never gave it a thought for a Legend car, I'll look into that a little more.

Regards,
Al
