Rear Fenders
« on: March 27, 2008, 12:01:22 am »
Much like Ricky Bobby's problem, I'm mounting new rear fenders.  How do I know where they should  be?  The front of the fender is pretty much defined by the running boards, but the back of the fender seems to be open to interpretation or something.

Where are yours located?  Where is the bottom of the flare in relation to the bumper horns?

Thanks,
Mike

I normally mount them low only because I like the low profile look on these cars. I think its up to you though, theres no set hight. I just get mine as low as I can without them touching.

They look pretty good where you have them in your paint pics.
Do make sure that you have enough clerance.

Remember that you have to have a least 10 inches from the body to the wheel opening.  Depending on the springs and travel you have you can not cut back the fender too far so the tire does not rub..

Hey MegaMan, On our cars the 34 Ford sedan there is a body line that the fenders tuck up too.  This seems to bring the back of the fenders up the middle of the rear horn.

Thanks guys.

My fenders seem to be somewhere between the middle of the horns and the bottom of the horns, just wondered if this was the norm.
Looks like I should be fine then.

Thanks again,
Mike
