DGI kit, AGAIN (hope your not running a 56K modem!)
« on: October 14, 2015, 11:45:24 am »
So...... because I can never be happy with the way things are....... I've made some more advances/changes on my DGI kits

So here is where I am currently at.

SENDING UNIT
high temp plastic / Aluminum (as before)

The advantage of the plastic is all on my end, quicker\easier to make...... but raw material is 5X the cost of aluminum.

GAUGES
Plain gauge face in: plastic housing / Aluminum housing

"Shiny" tinted  gauge face in: plastic housing / Aluminum housing

"Matte" tinted  gauge face in: plastic housing / Aluminum housing

Gauge faces next to each other (plain/shiny/matte)

In the plastic housing, the two tints look the same. tones down the glare.

In the aluminum housing, the two tints are about the same brightness, but the matte has no glare.

Where I'd like to be:

So in the end I'd like to be making the plastic sending unit and the aluminum gauge with the matte tint. BUT, I guessing the aluminum sending unit is what the masses want.

I have 2 or 3 members to fill requests for at the moment, I will then post up what I have ready to go if anyone would like in on this.

Silly Tool Maker wants to make race car parts better, stronger, CHEAPER (in kit form) than the OEM! ( now he's trying to be a fabricator too! )
