Who fixes wheels?
« on: June 08, 2015, 10:14:21 pm »
So at my home track growing up if you bent a wheel up our track welder would fix them as long as you didn't bend the center. They would come back to you the next week brand new and even painted for half the price of a new wheel.

I bent a wheel Friday night, I was curious if anyone fixes wheels. Preferably on the east coast.

Years ago when most wheels were classified as heavy or of thicker material, repair or welding of wheels was common.  As wheels evolved and as most everyone runs the lightweight versions these days, rim repair basically faded away. Lightweight wheels when damaged are often either bent or torn to the point of no return, so people just buy new or used replacements.  I would suggest tool listed in attached link for minor bends on bead area or outside edges of  wheels.

Hope this helps!  :)
