Motor change

Hi all I am doing my 1st motor change and need to know how to remove the motor adaptor for the driveshaft. Also need to know how to reinstall.     Thanks Todd

You will need a Craftsman or similar 36mm socket. It must be a thin wall socket to fit inside the coupler. If someone has added a set screw to the outside of the couple that locks against the nut on the inside, remove that first. The put the transmission in gear, hold tension against the transmission in the direction of nut rotation and use an impact gun to remove and install the nut. Some people use locktite on the nut when they reassemble; I don't but all of my couplers have a set screw.
