Cordele, Georgia March 1, 2008:

Andrew Smith continued his domination of the Legends Pro Division at the Watermelon Capital Speedway as he recorded his eighth consecutive trip to Victory Lane at the fast 3/8 mile asphalt oval on March 1.

As has become customary, Andrew proved that he can draw low numbers with the best of them (#34 out of 35 numbers) and earned himself a last place starting spot in the combined Pro and Masters heat race. It became quickly evident that Andrew would have to be considered a favorite for the day as he made his way easily from the rear of the field to take the victory in the eight lap heat race.

Georgia Winter Series officials combined the Semi-Pro, Pro and Masters divisions for the Legends feature event. Starting from the pole position, Andrew led every lap and was never seriously challenged in the 20 lap feature event as he drove his way to his eighth win in as many tries at the Cordele track. When asked about how the car drove, Andrew simply stated that “it was hooked up.”

Andrew and the team travel to the Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 8 for the final Georgia Winter Series event following the Nicorette 300. This will be the last chance for the team to put the finishing touches on the car before the points season begins. If the first two races of the year are any indication, there shouldn’t be much too much more to do to be ready for the 2008 season.

Andrew Smith competes regularly in the RaceCeiver Legends Pro Division and in select NASA and SCCA road course events in the Andrew Smith Racing Chevrolet Monte Carlo Late Model. You can follow Andrew’s success this season at www.andrewsmithracing.com.

Wow.   ;D
That is why setup is key.  He best not give out his setup info to anybody!

Great race, man!

Thank you - and you have hit the nail on the head.  While I don't want to get into the setup vs hp debate, hp is no good if you can't get it to the track.
