There are two types of drive shafts that are legal. The original was white in color and has external C-clips on the universal joints. The flanges that bolt to the front and rear were thinner. This shaft is widely used but the u-joint are NOT rated for the RPM's of a legend Car. The second and current shaft has 1200 series u-joint and is rated closer to the RPM's of a Legend Car. The white shaft will weigh about 2-2.5 lbs less and should be in the 14lb range. The gray shaft closer to 16 to 16.5 range. Both are currently legal and have the same outer tube diameter.

Just remember, if you go looking for a white driveshaft, make sure you know exactly what you are looking at.
Many track rules dictate that all driveshafts be painted white, so just because it's white, doesn't mean it's white.

I'm sure Dennis has them in stock. I tried finding them once, and had a hard time finding one like it because the 2 sides are different.
I bought them from our "local" USLC dealer

OOPS!!!!!
The lighter older shaft with the smaller u-joints has internal retainer clips.
The newer gray shaft has external clips.
Sorry guys!
The parts number I listed ARE FOR THE LIGHTER SHAFT WITH INTERNAL CLIPS!

My drive shaft has been painted white, but I have the funny looking ' C " clamps on the ends of the U joint. Again I am looking at replacing them as they are more than 2 years old. I would also like to put grease fittings on them if at all possible. Dennis, do you have these and if so how much would they be and I would need them shipped to zip 53221.
Thanks,
Scott
