we found that the new chassis on clay here in Australia was very stiff compared to the older 4 bar chassis. The car seemed to have a lot more roll possibly because of less wist in the chassis. the setup was changed across from the old car to new and weight was almost identical but the two cars were night and day apart in handling characteristics.
We have allowed in the rules for Australia the reduction of the bar that goes under the uni at the rear end by an inch to alloy for a better ride height and safety for if it is to come in contact during extreme travel. The cars do respond well with a 5" ride height on the right side allowing us to use lighter springs to try get some drive out of the RR but not all cars over here have scales or anyone to dial up a good starting point setup.

Cut them suckers off! We have found there is no advantage to the stiffeners, the only thing they do is move the hinge point in the chassis to the roll cage bar close to where the dash rivets. It does nothing for the front end stiffness. We do however cut a very small slit through the bar, making the competition think we are using them. We've found the bars tighten the cars up on big tracks. Hate them on short banked tracks also. Jmo
