right caliper piston
« on: May 20, 2013, 08:24:44 am »
I have replaced everything master, all brake lines, had calipers rebuilt and my right front piston does not retract all the way so it keeps a drag on the right front any suggestions.

Take a very close look at the alignment of the caliper mounting plate. Remove the caliper and pads, look at the mounting bracket and see if the rotor is aligned in the center and make sure the clearances are the same top to bottom. Sounds like you have a problem that is in the mounting.

What Dennis said.
Also check that your rotors are not warpped. You did not mention new rotor.

Thanks, Looks like the caliper mounting plate that bolts to the spindle was bent.

That happens alot, many times when this happens it turns out to be the actual spindle is tweaked. Seems like that would be hard to do, but i have seen the cone tweaked several times. I do like the new brakes as you remove those brackets.
