fried Red box return
« on: April 08, 2013, 12:25:50 am »
I have heard of people sending the red boxes back after they stop working to have them repaired. Do they go to 600 or straight to dyna tech?

You will need to contact Larry Nelson at Dynatek.  (800)928-3962  He will give you a return authorization number and address to send it to in Montana to test it. I just had to send one in about a month ago. It failed the testing and it was out of warranty but was able to purchase a new one for $123. I think Larry is in California.

Racingtrader,

Note: You will have to be patient also as many of us, including myself,  have previouslysent in modules to Dynatek to have them repaired and they often take several weeks if not a month or two to receive them back.  Larry Nelson is a very nice  guy to deal with, but their service lead time is often not to what we need with our cars.

Good luck!  :)

Same thing that happens on a street car's electronic ignition box. They eventually go bad. Vibrations from racing, heat, etc... will all take a toll on the electronics.

Red boxes seem to go bad a lot.   From what I've seen there're not a good buy

How do you know if your red box is bad?? I think mine went out tonight, 15th lap on back stretch motor lost all power, little red light on box will not come on, and when you spin the motor over it just acks like the timing is way off, struggles to soon over, motor made a weird sound so I shut it down?

Can't say what the weird sound was but sounds like your red box is junk now, can you borrow one from someone to see if that's the problem?
