drive shaft coupler question

starting to collect pieces for my engine..and i have a few questions....i ordered a service manual on cd but its not here yet........what is the valve clearence .. i want to check them before i disassemble the engine for cleaning an inspection...and when tighthten the drive shaft coupler do you put the engine in gear and use a torque wrench if so how many foot lbs....thanks

.006 intake - .008 exhaust

Put trans in gear, hold coupler against the cogs to keep from banging the trans and tighten the nut with an impact gun as tight as you can get it.

ouch,thats brutal on the trans. hold the coupler with a pipe wrech and torque it!
