Vent line from case...
« on: June 20, 2012, 07:17:48 pm »
I bought a used hank Scott open motor this winter, and the vent from the case had a line with a larger piece inthe middle of the line with some sort of ball type valve in it.   It isn't a one way valve, but has a ball that does move inside this larger piece.  What is the purpose of this, and does anyone else use this?  I am just using a normal line up to the breather tank.  I'll try to post a pic if this doesn't make any sense.......

Just looked on hanks's site, and there is a pic of this piece, I think it is part number
HSR-10404 Billet Oil Pressure Passage Adapter

Why would this be in the vent line?

Sounds like a ball type valve that closes if upside down. Post a pic. If you can't, send it to me and I will post it for you.

Actually tried it today, doesn't seem to shut if the line is flipped over.

Here is a pic.
