Brake Man #2 Pads
« on: June 20, 2012, 09:26:09 am »
Does anyone have any experience with the #2 pads from Brake Man?  I haven't heard of many people using them, but the description says they're good for flat/tight asphalt bullrings.  Wondering if anyone's using them and how they work compared to the #3 or #93.  Thanks!

They are more agressive, more dust. The only brake man pad i have used that worked were the #3 pad and it is still very agressive. I think the Carbotech pads work just as well and they are less money.
If agressive is what you are after.

I've sold #2's to people running bullrings, and haven't had any complaints.
No personal knowledge though

Thanks for the quick responses and good info.  We're currently running the #93 pad, but my driver's looking for more bite at a flat 1/3mi asphalt track we've been going to lately.  I was also talking to Chris at LRC today and  The Brake Man's coming out with a new #84 that might be what we want.  Will update when I try something new!

I have a specific Porterfield brake pad and shoe for circle track.

Go to www.RPMracingca.com and search porterfield.

I also have a real aggressive front pad for roadracing. It is usually to aggressive for circle track, it might work good for you.

#84 is out and available, have sold it already when they were on backorder for #2.
It is more aggressive than the #2 is.

Is there a listing on your site for them?

We switched from the #93 to the new #84 a few races ago.  We've since run a 3/8mi semi-banked and 1/3mi flat track (both pavement), and my son loved them.  They gave him what he was after - the ability to drive deeper into the corners.  Lap times also agree, with our fastest laps of the year at both tracks...picked up a tenth, or so.
