I know very little about the water cooled engines...
That aside; Are you allowed to use the Redline carb kits?
Have heard of good results with them.
Perhaps Jim or Randy can give you better insight into carbs.

If that is a water cooled conversion that the american legend guys wish they could have  (do the thunder roadsters use them???) it should jet the same?

If so the redline kits are the way to go as the guy has some super directions and tech knowledge to go along with the kits. I would check with VMS as I am friends with him but I guess the other guys would be ok to.

I asume 15-25deg C?
The jets are not the only thing needed to rejet a carb. In the redline kits there are air bleeds, pilot jets, jets, and if I rememeber correctly needles as well. All these things come together for peak performance and crisp response.
You may be able to get away with a 130 jet and posibly raising the needles in the slides (if possible) but the complete package would be a better way to go. VMS is usually reasonable with over seas shipping, check him out.

Can the redline carb kit be installed and set up properly by the average racer dad who has done carb work in the past or is there special tools needed ?

If you've done carb work in the past, you should be able to do it

If that car is shutting down at the high rpm, a jet kit may only make the problem worse? A properly jetted set of carbs is a key to a great performing engine but you also need a good supply of fuel. If you increase the jetting (richer) you will use fuel faster and run out of gas sooner possibly? You may want to ask around and see what everyone else is running for a fuel pump, fule lines, filters etc.
Also is the fuel filter old?
If it is plugged you will restrict fuel as well. If your fuel cell is old and has old foam that can plug the filter as is breaks down from age.

A lean burn would make your car run hot, a extremly lean burn will make it run very hot and ruin the engine.

Dont get me wrong on this, a jet kit will make good carbs better but be sure that there is no other problems as well.

As Legends Cars are pretty new in his country and parts are very likely scarce, I think he is looking for parts suppliers and any DIY info. to help get more speed out of his car. Thank You to all who are posting and helping out!
