2012 INEX Rulebooks
« on: April 12, 2012, 01:08:56 pm »
Anyone get one yet?  Looks like our new tech inspector will have to enforce an invisible rulebook....or no rules at all.   ::)

Nope, not yet i don't understand how it takes so long to print a rule book when there aren't many changes from last years book.

The tech inspectors have the rulebook, Jerry talked to me last weekend about some new things he will be checking.  Nothing major is going to change so I dont see what all the hype is about.

What do mean their are no major changes?  I understand Beaver Dam Raceway  is requiring fire underwear for all divisions including Legends.  I know it's not an INEX rulebook rule, but then again a prime example that rules should be available ahead of time to all so they can prepare and budget accordingly.  Not everyone has the same resources available to go out and just buy stuff.

No hype here, just my opinion ;D

Mark,

That would be a local track rule change. It would be up to the local track to advise it's members in a timely mannor.
Understand your frustration.

FWIW,
All racers should already be wearing fire protective garments.

They are not making people wear fireproof underwear from what I understand, they didnt check during tech when they did the safety equipment.
Mark, if their was some big change they would have let people know ahead of time.  Beaver Dam rules have been out for months so their is no surprise there.  If you really need to see the dates changed for the seat belts and the 2012 on the cover I can get a pen and write it on the 2011 rulebook and send it to you. :D

I'm just waiting to see what the wheel/tire weight for the AR's is going to be.
There wasn't one published last year since the tire was new, and now that everyone is making 13-14lb wheels with the exception of the USLC branded wheel, I wouldnt be surprised if everything without a USLC sticker, or bought from them, will be illegal. Coupled with reports that the 13lb wheels are not holding up to the dirt abuse. Thats why I have my new tires mounted on the old Bassett's right now, no rule book to refer to

If you look at the Beaver Dam web site in the 2012 rules it states the flame retardent undergarments are required unless I am missing something. Jeff is correct that they didn't check during inspection, but I bet they will in the first couple of races if they are indeed going to require them.

Just read the Beaver Dam Raceway Legends rules myself..racintaz99 is correct.  Beaver Dam REQUIRES(not recommends) fire underwear this year.

Happy shopping! ;D

You guys are nuts! I wouldn't enter a racecar without underwear. Safety is one place I will never take short cuts to save money.

Normally, fire retardent underwear is only required  with single layer suits. I have a 3 layer suit.
I emailed Pink Hat Monday, but never heard back from him
