Really dumb question. does changing toe affect anything else on the car?

Dan,

I don't think that it changes anything dealing with caster and camber. It may affect bump steer.
I couldn't find the info I was looking for in my handling books. Too many distractions from my neighbor. Sorry!

Caster affects camber and toe, camber affects toe, and small toe out changes stand alone.

Thats what i thought but wasn't 100% sure and started to doubt myself so i needed some reasurence.

True that things change in the suspension as the car is hitting bumps and turning. That is the reason that we set the suspension the way we do while static. Hopefully it keeps the car somewhat stable while under racing conditions. I still think that small changes in toe setting really don't affect things all that much. May help with a loose condition or push during cornering though, to some degree.

Back in the day when we had to run hard tires on the late models we would put 3/4-1 inch of toe out in to get the tires to heat up and fire faster.
