Anyone get their rule book yet?
« on: March 09, 2011, 10:57:57 am »
I was just wondering if anyone has received their rule book yet? Points start this weekend and I haven't been home for a couple of weeks and don't know if my licence is there with my book and stickers.  ;)

Here is the message sent to all tech inspectors on 3/1/11 from Scott Reinhart.

If you want to check your license status you should call them and confirm you are 2011 licensed.

"2011 INEX RULEBOOK

The mailings of the 2011 INEX rulebook have been delayed.
The 2010 INEX rulebook will remain applicable until the 2011 INEX rulebook is delivered and a “start-date” is posted on the US Legend Cars International web site.

Below is a list of some of the changes you will see in the 2011 INEX rulebook.

NOTABLE CHANGES
FOR THE 2011 INEX RULEBOOK

LEGENDS, BANDOLERO AND THUNDER CARS:
-   Carbon Fiber is not permitted to be used on any car.

LEGENDS AND THUNDER CARS:
-   No fuel filters in the engine compartment.

LEGENDS AND BANDOLERO CARS:
-   Tire tread depth will be governed using the “wear bar” rules (not 2/32”).

LEGENDS ONLY:
-   The angle of the hood can be no more than 3.5 degrees, as measured in comparison with the sub-frame of the chassis.

BANDOLERO ONLY:
-   Air jets (“snake eye jets”) cannot be changed to allen head jets or drilled for size."

The carbon fibre bit is a bit rubbish. I use CF for mirror mounts and door handles as it is the best for the job.

Is this aimed at performance enhancing over what I use it for?

Sooo What if we start racing and don't have the required stickers?  Is this ok?

DanH,

I think the rule is aimed to keep down costs and sell more fenders.
 ;D

Dan,

It will be ok to start without the required decals. You will get them when your membership packet arrives.

This is nothing new guys, Last year I did not get a rule book until something like June and stickers / pac at the same time.  The only thing I got was the membership card at the start of the year.  As for required decals..If you are going to a big nat. even yes..local track not a problem.  Your tech should know that the decal are not out yet

Last year I only got a membership card, no divisional sticker, rulebook, or contingency decals. Year before that got everything but the contingency decals. Nothing was ever said about lack of decals until I went to Nationals

Are you saying that word of mouth is not a good way to pass along rule changes?   ;)

Hopefully when the new team gets up and running some of this stuff gets better.

Looked back over the past couple of years... Rule books have not come out 'til around the first part of April. News posted on Randy's site suggest the same for this year.

2011 rulebook is now posted on the USLC site.
Also, an announcement that Z-Max money will be sent out next week.

I was at USLC Yesterday, the rule book and membership cards were being put in envelopes for mailing.  The carbon fiber is like anything else, unless they specifically start allowing specific parts you can not allow any. In other words the problem is where does it end. i understand it seems unfair to folks that have a specific part in mind, but you have o look at the big picture and do what is best for the entire membership. I made a couple of safety suggestions while at USLC this week, one was installing a welded in tab to connect the throttle cable to, the current design is not very good and could have serious consequences. The other is i believe they will be pricing having the spindle base made from A billet type material and not cast. Lastly I can tell you USLC will soon offer the Aero wheel with a guarantee on the run out, each wheel will be factory tested prior to USLC receiving them. The wheel will be a little cheaper than the Basset wheel.
