pinion angle tool

hi all,
Being new to legends i want to check the pinion angle of the car.  I have a digital level but wasn't sure if theres a certain tool to use to find the angle.  If so could you send me the link.

Your digital level should work if it will give you the angle. I have a  Sears Craftsman angle finder tool. Like $$8.00 - $12.00. Don't remember because I bought it so long ago. Cheap though.

I have been using a tool from a local hardware store. they fit great under the car and about 1/2 the price of a longacre one

The first tool I use is a sledgehammer.
Then I put in as much pinion angle as possible

I am always 2.0 to 2.5

Jim uses a sledgehammer to fix the kitchen sink. lol! (Sorry Jim! Had to razz you a bit!)
We've all been there and had to do it at times.
I think you are about right on the 2" to 2.5". It's been awhile since I've seen this discussion. (Not on this forum)  And, at this point, It's not high priority on my list of "To Do's".  I'm still working on suspension mounts and re-fabricating some frame sections. Working more on front suspension right now than rear.

Anyway, The angle finder that I bought from Sears runs around $8.00 to $10.00. Should work out fine when I get back to working on the rear section of the car again.

I had to stop and think but I'm pretty sure its Neg,  You want it facing down to help get bite.

I believed it was negative.  Just to make sure i do this right, you check the angle of the rear end by the gear and then the angle of the drive shaft and subtract the 2?

I always lay it on the flat surface on the bottom of the rear end housing and also touching the area where your drive shaft connects ( I forget the name of it).
