heim joint torque
« on: January 01, 2011, 11:33:28 pm »
Hi just wanted to know what everyone torques the bolts that connect the hiem joints to the chassis and rear end to.  Or do you just do them good and tight?

Thanks,
Dan

I suggest using bolts long enough so that you can place a nut on the back of the chassis mount.  i have seen alot of trailing arm bolts snap, everyone thinks its from the torque, truth is, its from the bolt loosening and then it snaps. When it happens it can take alot of other parts with it. The nut will help, but always nut and bolt the car before race day!
