Rear View Mirrors
« on: November 05, 2010, 03:53:10 pm »
I saw what the rulebook says about rear view mirrors, but I don't see any for sale from 600 Racing other than the side view mirrors.  One of the two cars we bought has one of those 4 or 5 panel rear view mirrors and I would like to put the same in the second car.  Will that be legal even if I buy it elsewhere?

This will open a can of worms again but you are right they do allow mirrors. They also carry a couple of different styles. They have the panel and the convex style. You need to make sure that your local track allows them though. It is usually allowed on asphalt and not on dirt but that is not a cut and dried rule. Just call someone that you plan on running with. You also would probably get a better deal if you look around on the web for the mirrors.

Sorry!  I hate to be the guy that opens up cans of worms!

The car that we bought locally that raced this season at the tracks in the area has the panel mirror I mentioned, but the one we bought that came via the Charlotte area doesn't have one.

You can check with your track Tech person for the track rule on mirrors.

Mirrors are not an INEX stamped item and can be bought anywhere, just make sure your track allows them.

4 Panel Rear View Mirror (no hardware) $20.00
3 Panel Rear View Mirror (no hardware) $25.00
Wide Angle rear View Mirror With Mounting Hardware $53.00 (flat or convex)

All prices plus shipping.

If you are talking for a bando, the only problem with the mirror inside, the only thing your driver will see is himself and not behind the car. And if he is small and close to the front it will get broken getting in and out.
Just my experience.
