Air Scoop
« on: June 28, 2010, 03:52:27 pm »
While I do know the benefits of having the scoops to keep the engine/clutch/etc cool in the car, is anyone having any adverse impacts of the scoop due to drag created by the excess airfolw into the engine compartment?  We are running a restrictor plate so every hundreth of a second counts and I am just curious what the upside and downsides are.....

Thought about that my self, decided the cooler clutch was a better (scoop on left side, less wind) this nose to tail racing is hard to get use to. We not only deal with the plate,we also have a gear rule 13/59 and a rev limit.  Having to teach drafting to eight yr old.  Back to the scoops some  people  tie the air hose real close to carb to keep engine cool!! who knows.  Try waxing, good coat of wax makes a slick car might be worth a tenth .
