Its the same rubber line just has a SS sheath on it. I think it will hold better because the SS adds a little more resistance to come over the barb when being pulled off. If I have an left over I will bring some to work and check the hose pull off force compared to the standard rubber line. I doubt its much more but it should be better. I assumed the switch to SS line was to prevent cut lines from pinching or shearing in wrecks not carb attachment. Also make sure to use hose clamps not the steel hose spring clips. I found out at the Nationals that I had a clip on mine and it could have easily been pulled off but a dirt chunk. I quickly replaced with a SS hose clamp which clamps pretty tight.
