Things have been going great in our Bandolero program. I wish I could say the same for the Legends. last Sunday (June 22) I was turned by another driver coming off a corner and hit he wall at about 70 mph. My dad coming through the pack collected the car that turned me ripped off his right front wheel. He then bounced off of him and hit me in the back end. I was able to get his car fixed through the week and I started in his car last night. Half way through the heat race I blew up the engine. This week I will be swaping the engine from my twisted wreck of a car into his and hopefully be able to complete a race.

Geoff,
Glad to hear the Bando program is going well.
Sorry the Legends program hasn't been going your way.
I hope you get both cars up and running soon.

Brad has been getting better every race in the Bando. His biggest problem is on the starts and not being able to anticipate the green flag. He usually loses 6-8 car lengths and then makes it back up under the green. He is being consistantly in the top ten out of 15 cars.

We got rained on at 3:00pm and they cancelled the races, it was clear from 3:30pm on and was a perfect night for racing.

We busted our butts getting the second car ready to race but we will have to wait a couple weeks to get the second car out.

Jeff,
Why was the track so quick to shut down?
Did it just dump a ton of rain on the track and they didn't think they could get it dry in time??
I know we have had issues with time here. Track limits the time that races must end. I think is was a compromise to keep the city council happy.
I  just don't understand why people would build houses near a race track (or airport) that has been there for 50 years, and then complain about it.
For sure, there has been some crazy weather these past few years!
I hope you get the chance to get both cars out there soon.

 Best of Luck,

 Steve

I had a great holiday weekend.  Friday night we raced at Nodak Speedway in Minot, ND.  Didn't do very well as I finished the feature in 10th place (out of 13 cars) but had a great time anyway.  Saturday night got to go to Southwest Speedway in Dickinson, ND - my favorite track.  We only get to race there twice each year and I really look forward to it.  I won my heat race.  I spun out on my own trying to get by someone (I think it was only the third time I have spun out on my own in 2 1/2 years) and finished a distant 7th in the trophy dash.  In the feature I got spun out, got my place back and continued on.  I had an exciting 3 way side by side by side finish for 3rd, 4th and 5th.  When the flag flew, I didn't know who finished where, but found out I got 5th (out of 13 cars again).  Wow - what a blast.  I ran in third for 10 laps or so and was right on the tail of 2nd place - a very good run for me as I don't often keep up with the leaders that well.  And best of all, loaded the car up in one piece again, which I was worried about as I spun around and saw 6 cars coming right at me.  I can't wait to go back there in September.

Congrats Brad!

One of these days, I'm going to have to come over and check out the action.

After getting crashed out on Friday I came to the regional qualifier Sat. looking for a good run.  I finished 3rd in my heat which transfered me to the A main where I started 6th.  I had a good start and got into a good spot running 5th behind the masters and was set to ride there.  On lap 20 of 30 I got spun and had to restart 17th, in the last 10 laps I passed 8 cars to finish 9th and was the top Semi Pro.  I had a really fun three wide battle with 2 to go to get 9th, very fun race on a rather rough track.
