Noobie Question - Tires
« on: February 18, 2012, 07:10:54 pm »
I'm brand new to legends and had some boarder line dumb questions about the Federal tires. I know they need the INEX stamp on them, that's about it.

First, is there only one Federal Tire used, or are there different sizes/compounds available, right sides, left sides, fronts, rears? When getting tires cut, do I need a specific pattern for certain tracks, or is there a general pattern used? Also, what's the best way to break in new tires: heat cycle info, etc?

Thanks,
Keith

There is only one tire available, I'll leave the rest to the people that know asphalt

Depends on who is cutting them, best bet would be to tell them the type of track like size and banking.  Some tire cutters have different types of cuts others don't.  As far as heat cycling, normally people run a practice on them and then take them off and don't use them the rest of the day, after that they should be good to go.
