Erie, PA Helping Hand
« on: July 08, 2013, 01:43:16 pm »
Hello
I'm new to Erie and would like to get into legend racing. I have spent some time digging on the forum reading some old posts and other places on the web about set up and such. I would like to find a local race team to learn from / help out. I'm willing to sweep the floor if that gets my foot in the door. I have a little back round with street cars but no one in or around my family owns a race race anymore and the best way to learn is from someone who has been around the sport. Once my better half gets done with grad school I would like to get my own legend. I live in Mill Creek anyone with in  a half hour or so that would like an extra pair of hands pease PM me.

Thank you
Barry

We are 2.5 hours from the track.  Have you come to the track and ask around? There are several racers from your area that are not members of this group.  We are not there weekly, but if you come to the track and we are there I will help you make connections.

I'm meeting up with Brad Salatino from this forum on July 27th, are you going to be there that Saturday? I'm not one for walking right up to someone and asking questions I don't like to be a pest. I figure this forum you can skip over it if your not interested. With that said  I have spent the last week or so reading as much as possible so I'm now not completely blind. I would like to meet up with you, also what number is your car and where will you be parked?

Thank you for your time
Barry

I believe we will be there on the 27tg weather permitting. There will be several cars with the KNOX RACING logo on the trunk lid. You will find us no problem.

We have a few members out your way, Barry. Also, some members (like Dennis and his bunch) that travel on occasion. Don't be shy. Most racers and mechanics will be more than happy to answer your questions. Just go down to the pits and introduce yourself. You might run in to a few that don't want to be bothered; But for the most part, this is a good group of people! They are helpful and want to see the class grow and prosper.
