Body removal
«
on:

I am in the process of taking the body off and cannot
seem to get it to budge. I have all the fasteners removed,
even around the firewall. The back lifts freely, but it is just
plain ol' stuck. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thinking you are missing some rivits or something simple. Take a step back and look everything over. Sure you will find what is holding you up.

Need bars are undone. All firewall fasteners are off, and no lead.
Still stumped. Lol

I have the grill off. Front and rear fenders are off
also. I will have to try again next weekend. Work
too many hours during the week. Wanted to at least
get it in primer next Sunday. Hoping we get a few
more decent days weather wise.

Check to make sure dashboard is not somehow attached to front of body beneath window opening. Also, keep in mind that car you purchased is a very old car from late 90's and square firewall support tubing may be bent to the point causing interference with body removal. I would also suggest possibly having someone sandblasting the chassis and then closely inspecting all welds, especially at all suspension mount locations. Take extra time to closely look at mount on frame behind seat for top radius rod that adjusts pinion angle of rear end housing. These have been known to fatigue and crack over time.
Good luck!

you are working on. Lol. Now to make a paint
booth in my garage . Thanks for the help.
