Head and neck

Anyone know why Defender (I know it is spelled different) head and neck restraint systems went out of business? I heard they got sued by HANS but don't know if there is any truth to that. The one Jim is selling is very similar except the mounting hardware on the helmet.

I also believe it was something HANs related where they are no longer legally allowed to produce it.

They were sued by for patent infringement.
I never heard anything after that, maybe they just chose to stop making them instead of spending millions of dollars to try to defend against the lawsuit?
