I thought that they dropped the requirement for the stamp if they meet the same dimensions.

They do not need to be stamped.
The stamped ones are  thicker steel than the unstamped ones are allowed to be though.

Not here they must have the stamp. I was told to make them right because I always made my own tabs. I guess I should read the rule book again.

I guess that would fall under the local rules but seems kind of silly.  Tabs are not exactly a complicated part to tech.

Here, we can add rear bumper supports from the outside edge of the rear bumper angling foreward and bolted to the framerail. there is a measurement for where the extra support hole is drilled ahead of the rear tip of the framerail, so everyone's bumpers interchange. They passed tech at the nationals. In my eyes, the bumper tab thickness rule is BS for on dirt... along with the rear added supports, thicker tabs should be allowed up front too. Front bumpers bend back into a tire if you get too agressive anyway. Leave that flimsy tab stuff to the ashpalt races

Ya thats just not right, there are two tabs. Two allowed ANYWHERE. The stamped tab is metric steel and is slightly thicker although it is not very hard.
