« on: April 13, 2011, 09:19:28 am »
What is all of your guys's opinion on new body styles? I would like to see a 34 ford pickup or maybe a 37 chevy pickup. what do you think?

Not a chance.
Would need a completely different cage...unless you have a coupe, then I suppose you could have an 18" "box"
Dwarf cars can have truck bodies.
Legends-never, everything would change and they'd make everyone buy a new chassis, thus destroying the class/series.
Plus they have too much money involved in the new "modified" that will fizzle out in the next 2 years.
They need to let things stabilize now that everyone has tires after a 3 year tire debacle.

Instead of building the legends spint car that Jim was referring too that I agree will fizzle out in a few years, they should have moved to a next generation of sorts for Legends cars, like 57 Chevys & Fords, and so on....

Just my two cents! ;D

i dont think the body change would be nice and the new dirt car was not a good idea, just my opinion. If they were going to change anything, they should of built a quick change for these legend cars, that way it would'nt be such a pain in the a*s to change gears.

Being someone that doesn't currently own a Legends Car, I'd like to see a Pickup body.. I would get that before the '34 Ford Coupe.. I've been looking into dwarf cars as well lately.. didn't know they had a Pickup body..

The dwarf car guys have a pick up. I'm not crazy about them, as I don't think they really look like a pickup.
Winters makes a quick change for the dwarfs, but they are quite pricey.
I'm not sure what happened with the liquid cooled conversion for the legends cars. Don't know that the conversion was a better idea. A true liquid cooled engine... Im for that if it can be kept affordable.

They have the liquid cooled 1250 in the Thunder roadsters I believe.
Would ruin the class.
Changing things ruins classes, especially big ticket items.
Leave it as it is

If you don't change the classes over time they will slowly die off.  Look at NASCAR and how they have progressed.
I do think the changes need to be made slow but I would love to have a water cooled engine.  It may cost more upfront but would decrease the cost over time.

The quick change would be fun but man that would cost a lot for both the rearend and for all those damned gears.....

Yes, things need to evolve, but switching to a liquid cooled engine would be a $6000+ change, a lot more than a quickchange.
I'm still for leaving it as it is, update when necessary, and lets go racing.

Side note: NASCAR has changed...and now you can walk up to the window on raceday and buy a ticket, any track, anywhere.

Now make this damn snow stop and lets go racing'....well, I need to put my car together first...
