Yep, I sold all 11 on Ebay in under a day. We just made up another run of 28 that will be available in a couple days.

Can you weigh the aluminum gear box, I am curious how much difference is between the two.
Thanks

The handle looks like it's got a nice rolled edge, so I can see it would be no less comfortable to carry than the steel one. One thing with the steel box is that with the handles top mounted like that you keep the C of G lower. Makes it a little less tippy while carrying it.
So now the real question... How much do they weigh?

I just went out to the shop and tried to see how tippsy the CMG box is, there was absolutely no problem with it. As for the weight I can only go by my bathroom scale, it showed 1lb.....may not be super accurate but close enough.

My steel box weighs 6.5lbs, my guess is the aluminum unit weighs about 3-4lbs since it does have steel handles. Either way I doubt you will notice the difference once you get that heavy gear in it. I was actually going to buy one of the CMG boxes but I wanted studs to bolt the gear in place and wanted the drain corner.

The CMG box is closer to 1lb, the studs are o.k but not necessary....also, there is a drain hole in the corner of the CMG box.

i like my cat litter tubs. thay have handles, lids and they are free...:)

We just keep ours in 5 gallon buckets. We have a restraunt who get pickels in 5 gallon buckets. The smell is a little funky for awhile, gear oil and pickels. I was thinking about buying or making one of those boxes though as something to have under the car when you change the gears out.

5 gallon paint buckets (without paint of course :)) seem to be the right size and are cheap or free. They are a little bigger than needed, but will get the job done. I will have to say that both of the fabricated ones would save some space and would keep the weight off of the ring gear like you would have with paint buckets and kitty litter buckets.
