I see most guys are using 75w-90ish synthetic oils. Does it make a difference if the oil is wet clutch compatible in the rear like it is in the front?

The 75w-90ish is rear end lube. Has nothing to do with the engine. Just the Toyota rear end. It's a gear lube for the rear axle.

How much gear oil is needed? Do you fill until it runs out the fill hole? Also 75-90 synthetic is ok?

You'll probably get a couple different answers, depending on who you ask. Some run the bare minimum and claim less drag. In theory, it sounds reasonable. It will create more heat in the rear end though. I prefer to run a bit more. I fill until I can stick my pinky finger in the hole and feel the gear lube. My thinking is that it keeps the rear end gears cooler.
