Title: Hesitaion when gassed
Post by: Billy13 on August 20, 2012, 09:18:02 pm: When my son gets on the gas there is a hesitation. Any ideas? I turned the screws in and turned them out 1.5 turns. I know nothing about these carbs.

Seems to me that I was talking to someone a few years ago about a similar issue. I believe a good carb cleaning and fresh plugs solved the problem.

Disassembly will be required. If its not bad dirty you may try brake cleaner to clean the carb. Ultrasonic cleaning it would be better.

Its better to take it apart like that. You can put everything in the ultrasonic cleaner. The solution used in mine is a special degreaser type of solution made just for carbs and it has to be diluted with water. Do you have an ultrasonic cleaner? If not I see you are in Florida and Im in southeast Georgia.

Not sure on the Bando but most of them on the Vanguard engine is the Nikki 2 barrel carb. Does the bando engine use a single barrel or 2 barrel carb?

Looks like the jets are 90 & 94. Still hesitates. Sounds more like if the RPMs are up like a pac lap and he gasses on it is when it happens
