Post by: smokinjoe00 on July 12, 2017, 09:40:33 am
can a 1200 valve cover fit on a 1250 sealed? I'm assuming yes

I've heard of people putting the 1250 valve cover on a 1200 so those neat head fans will fit. So, as far as I know, yes.

Yes, the 1200 and 1250 valve covers are the same on the bottom but the valve cover bolts and grommets are different between the two.

Nope as long as you have the proper bolts and grommets for the valve cover. The 1200 VC has a 10mm head bolt with black grommets the 1250 VC has 5mm allen head bolts with green grommets.

Joe,

RPM sells the green grommets and may have the allen bolts as well.

Yes we have the green grommets and bolts for the XJ cover and we have the black grommets for the FJ cover unfortunately the Fj cover bolts are no longer available from Yamaha. Type in "valve cover" in the search field and they will all pop up on this page https://www.rpmracingca.com/search.asp
