I saw an older car that had a gear indicator that wasn't digital but had a different light for each gear.  I'm guessing that was an older version that came from 600.  The gear indicator is expensive, but is the only gauge that I would put in a new car.  It isn't necessary, but is really nice to have.

I make  led shifts indicator lights  75 dollars but you have to look at  your motor by the shift linkage see if there is 6 wires  right below link on the block

amp,

More info please.
Does it work on the FJ/Xj engines?
Does it require a rev counter or electronic dash?
Please give us more details.

Thanks,

Steve

Who has the info about how many wires down by the shift linkage on a Legends car?

What parts of the wiring harness do these LEDs hook to?

Steve

the leds are mounted 0n a alum plate with a fuse holder below them. I use a 6 cond cable  solder to the leds hot guled in place. the cable is run thru the fire wall 1/4 grommet.  included will be a female and male ,radio shack 6 pin sockets you will have to solder the pins . then match the wire color  for color very easy to do . the indicators are neg ground so you just have to connect the red pos wire from the fuse holder to the pos block or the switch side of the ing switch.  Thanks ,you can make these youself  email me I will give you my phone number and tell you how .

What engine(s) have you connected these to?
What I'm getting at; Legends car wiring harnesses are VERY basic. A starting system and a charging system... That's about it. So I am just curious as to what wires the system would hook to?

Thanks,

Steve

No. The stock one is single wire for the neutral light.
I'm trying to locate a part# for the 6 wire part.

Steve,
Do you think it would be the part that comes with 600's indicator?

Yes, it is. The gear indicator comes as a kit from 600 Racing.

DanH,

This is the part# for the 6 wire sensor unit that goes in the transmission to connect to the gear indicator gauge?
Also, What is the correct name for that part?

Thank You,

Steve

Thats the one its called a gear indicator plate. I will be getting these made at somepoint this year as the 600 racing part is very fragile and the screw holes are prone to snapping.

Yeah iv got to do a bit of testing with it to see what material works best.

No countersunk holes in this as this is what i think makes them break.

Looks good Dan!
I don't have any idea what type of material... Maybe some kind of polyurethane ? Don't know how well that stuff machines.
I'm interested to see what you come up with. Thanks for posting the pic of your design!

Im going to get one made on a 3D printer the week after next, then ill check that in an engine to see if that works ok then do a small production run.

Timewise I reckon 3 weeks till i get a finished example in plastic.

Iv got someone working on the material just need some sort of machineable plastic that can stand a wide range of temps without cracking.
