Has anyone installed the new wheel tethers. the ones I have are one continuous loop about 12" long. Looking for the proper way to install them.
Thanks Mike

I wanted to move this back to the top.
Does anyone have any pics of how it's done?
Thanks!

Are Me and Mike the only ones interested in this?
Is there anyone else using tethers?
Steve

The only ones I see using it are the Thunder Roadsters

Thanks Mike!
I really didn't know how they attached them! :-[
Since I am still building my car; I am trying to build in any safety factors that I can.

I have some sort of wheel teathers on my car. I'm at school can't remember where they come from and where they go. I'll look tonight when I re-scale it.

Thanks Kyle!
Can you post a pic or two?

Are they making you run them? I had a set on a car that I was driving and they didn't stop the wheel from come apart from the car. Yes they where hooked up correct as per 600 direction. I did hit the wall at 45 degree impact at about 70mph. I have a brand new set that I would sell if some wanted them though. No not the set that went down the track............LOL.

Hi Scott,
No. Rules for me don't apply, as I am not running 600 Racing/ INEX rules.
I was also curious about how they are attached, and if they were worth doing???
A little safety for the spectators was my thought.

Wow, Im in a mood lately >:( ! I'll admit I dont know about the tether system, but honestly, Im worried more about myself than the spectators...This may just be my ignorance on the subject of wheel tethers shining through, but I can just see wrecking and having this tethered tire acting like a sledgehammer bouncing around beating the :-X out of my car...
I know, not politically correct to care about myself ....it's been a loooooooong off-season and I wanna go play!

Jim,
I understand what you are saying!
I've been at this for a lot of years. Been on both sides of the fence.
I prefer trackside! It's been awhile. :'(
With the way autocross is around here; the spectators are right there on the course with you.
I would feel much worse about hurting someone else, than I would myself (or the car).
A car is just a car. It can be replaced.
I don't worry about me so much, because I know that I will have the safety of my roll cage, belts, and helmet.
The small amount of money it takes to help keep everyone around me safe...............
Priceless!!!
-
Yeah, I can understand your spectator concerns in autocross...not sure whats gonna happen to make your wheel come off though!?!?!?!? Righty-Tighty Steve! ;D
-
Just want to keep as many of the parts together as I can.
I've had a wheel center break..........
Ya just don't know where the wheel is going to go!
The tether won't help with something like that;
But may help keep other parts from coming loose and injuring someone.
