Title: spool vs welded
Post by: ZekeB on May 04, 2009, 09:37:50 pm
alright this weekend i stripped out my tail gears cause it was my own stupid fault i didnt chech the fluid...oops well i took it out and found out it was a spool and i had an other set welded and i was in a hurry so i just put the welded ones in. now im my opinion id go with the spool cause its lighter but i heard that there have been problems with the spools not being durable. so i was just wondering y they arnt cause it looks like a pretty nice piece to me

And just for further info...

Our last race two weeks ago, I stripped another one in the car I just bought. I figured I would get a few more than two races out of it this season. I wasn't going to change it until it stripped. Fortunatley it stripped in the heat and I was able to get it changed before the main...

And on top of that one of my customers stripped his spool in the main...needless to say I have already supplied him with a welded carrier as a replacement.

Spools are not as good as the welded Toyota.
