General / How to build experience?
« Last post by Rainman on March 23, 2024, 07:56:49 am »
Please forgive the dumb new guy question, but: how do you build experience driving a legend car before race events?

I?m working on getting into the sport.  New Hampshire Motor Speedway is my closest track but I can?t seem to find anything about track days or opportunities to drive other than their two race weekends.  Anyone know anything about getting time on tracks in the region?  I?m primarily interested in road course.  Thanks in advance.

Another issue is that USLCI has done away with some of the body styles. So new parts are not available.

The Ford coupes with the Chevy nose are extremely popular at the track I race at, as are at most tracks from what I've seen.  The Chevy coupe is very similar, it's just missing the b pillar basically; my friend has one.  One other guy and I have Chevy sedans, and there used to be a 34 Ford and a 37 Ford sedan at my track but both are up for sale now.

Brakes / Slotted and drilled front brake discs

Now we have a slotted and drilled disc brake rotor. As usual, they come out with new rules and new parts after most of us have our cars back together for the season. $58.99 each.

Hello, Just thought I would drop in.

Picked up a Bubble Coupe in Pennsylvania and drug it home to the upper peninsula of Michigan. I want to make it street legan. I know of a couple others in the state that are plated so I hope I can get it done with minimal issues.

It is just a bare chassis and Body so its a blank slate for me. i think im going to go in a different direction than the other street legal cars I have been seeing. I will start a thread here once I get started.

Also, a lot of people run the Ford body with the '37 Chevy nose to aide in engine cooling.

I have a Ford sedan.
Not as many options out there as there used to be. Chassis-wise, they are the same.
