Title: Road Racing
Post by: aldejoria on April 22, 2018, 11:31:05 pm
Any Road Racer’s here? I got our car together and did a track day with Speed Ventures yesterday. It was an interesting experience, as I haven’t driven the car at all....it was apart when we got it, and got it together enough to run Wednesday night. Whew. But it was worth all the hard work. What a handful this car is, lol. I guessed at the setup, 285 springs in the front, 175 springs in the rear. Essentially zero caster, and 1/8 or do toe out. The saving grace was that I know my way around the track here, so I could focus on the car. Couldn’t get much tire temp, and boy are they hard. I’m hoping it’s just the tires I have and that they are not like that new....I’m hoping anyway. Really enjoyed the day, sure have slot to learn about the characteristics of this car.

Sounds like fun! Seat time and tweaking the set up should get you up to speed.
Not sure what your tires duro at; But tires can not read less than 58 points on the durometer. If the tires had been sitting awhile, they may have hardened.
