I just wanted to check the 4 nuts that hold the axles in. What does everyone torque them to?
Thanks,

I've always just snugged them up good and tight with a socket. Never had any problems with them coming loose.

I dont use a torque wrench on them. Have never had one come loose

I have also never had an issue. its those drive shaft bolts you want to keep an eye on.

tighten by hand with Loc-tite

I use the nylon self-locking and lock tight. These drive shafts can hurt you if they come lose so double up.

make sure the axle is completely seated in the housing before you start tightening the nuts down. I have had customers start the axle and use the nuts to draw it in, DONT DO THAT! The plate will bow or bend and the axle will move in and out slightly, this will trash the bearing. You axles should basically go in and out by hand, ig you have to bang on them very hard you have a housing issue. The housing being straight and true is the key to the ENTIRE set up of a Legend Car.

Jim do you have any of the nuts for the axle?

Sorry, I do not...Randy?

Just use 5/16 by 1" i think , with some nylocks.

Sure, I have plenty of used ones. I collect them everytime I pull gears. I also have plenty of the O.E. bolts that are a notched head to lock it to the housing to prevent it from spinning.
