when looking at the side of the motor under the header ? the two outlets comming out of the oil pan ? which one is oil supply and which one is the oil return ? thanks Vern
-
The left (front) fitting is the supply and the right (rear) is the return.
-
thanks Jeff another question I bought that filter mount that goes on the back of the motor, I know you have to put the big o ring in it ? dose it get a small one to like the the remote mount had ?
-
You should only need the big o ring.

dont know if thats going to help ? I have that new adaptor plate that goes on the back of the motor, where the stock factory filter was mounted , my napa gold 1515 wont screw on diff thread size ?napa thread hole is to small ?new adaptor is a little bigger size nipple.
-
You can still use the Napa filters, will just be a different #.

I use a Wix #51069, I think the Napa # is 1069.
-
thanks guys :)

I eun the 51626 from WIX so the napa part number would be 1626. It has the same characteristics at the 51515 just the different thread size that fits the Texas style adapter
-
are all these filters for the new adaptor behind the motor ?
-
Does the oil get enough cooling with the Texas setup since it is just coming out of the small fittings on the header side of the motor?
-
Its a trade off. You open up more airflow to the front/side of the motor by eliminating the filter from the front corner...and you also eliminate about 2 pounds of lines and stuff. I'm switching to it too this winter when the engine gets re-done. The builder highly recommends it.
-
The previous owner of my car used 10AN lines for the filter side of the motor, so it would probably drop more than 2 lbs. ;D I guess these are truely air cooled and not oil cooled motors, so more airflow around the motor would help. I also wonder if the smaller lines from the header side would allow the oil to sit in the cooler longer and bring the oil temp down more.

I found that my oil preasure is higher now ......
